About Major Havoc

Welcome to the world of Major Havoc, I build crazy inventions, jet powered vehicles and science experiments. My name is Richard Rushton, I've been a maker since I can remember, my late father was an engineer and we built projects together even before the internet became popular!

My day job as a gas engineer was briefly halted during the first Covid lockdown in 2019, so I took this opportunity to launch the Major Havoc YouTube channel. To date I have over 50 build videos, some of my favourites are a 20,000w electric hovercraft, compressed air rubber chicken launcher and our London 2022 Redbull Soapbox Race entry the "Rocket Rodeo".

In 2022 & 2023 the channel attracted sponsorships and behind the scenes work began on the worlds first Jet-Electric hybrid car - project "Tora Tora 21". This single seater carbon fibre road legal vehicle boasts a massive 2:1 power to weight ratio using x4 electric hub motors and x3 diesel fuel jet turbines which in theory should achieve a 0-60 time of around 1 second. Look out for the "Tora Tora 21" build series on my channel.
